Mike Fisher, DBA, FACMPE

Mike Fisher, DBA, FACMPE, is an Associate Professor at Regis University.
Mike has managed physician groups since 1985. His health care career began in clinical research and cardiopulmonary diagnostics after completing his undergraduate degree in Biology & Physiology in the 1970s.
Mike graduated with an MBA in the early 1980s, and was a founding partner of Healthcare Management Systems, a practice management group on the west coast. Since arriving in Denver in 1991, he has held positions with the HealthONE and Centura hospital networks. He launched HMRx, a medical practice management firm, in 2003.
He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration/Health Services, and has been full time faculty at Regis University in Denver since 2001. Mike is currently Associate Professor in the School of Management at Regis University, and has attained the distinction of Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Donna Gilbert

Donna Gilbert is a Senior Director of Provider Reimbursement Services for Xcenda, and is responsible for reimbursement training, provider education programs and healthcare publications.
Mrs. Gilbert is a national speaker and published author on topics that include but are not limited to private payer contracting, pay for performance, healthcare policy, operational efficiencies in the physician office, billing and coding as well as reimbursement programs for fellows and residents. Audiences include physicians, practice managers, billing staff, chief executive officers and executive committees within physician practices.
Mrs. Gilbert and her team partner with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device manufacturers to develop and deliver business acumen programs for healthcare providers. The types of programs, publications and support materials from Mrs. Gilbert's team focus on reimbursement, billing, payer relations/contracting, healthcare trends, market strategy, and health policy.
Mrs. Gilbert has 20 years of experience with infusion therapy, product launch strategy, managed market value messaging, and has served as a medical writer and editor for numerous healthcare publications. Mrs. Gilbert has also led strategic marketing campaigns for physician groups, hospital based services, and medical device manufacturers. Currently Mrs. Gilbert develops content for various industry websites, is on the editorial board for AmerisourceBergen's Health Policy Weekly and is the managing editor and writer for International Oncology Network's Oncology NOW. Mrs. Gilbert is a member of MGMA and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism.

Marion K. Jenkins, PhD

Marion Jenkins is founder and CEO of QSE Technologies, which provides information technology design and consulting to a wide variety of business organizations throughout the US. QSE’s track record includes over 150 current or completed IT projects in 30 states and territories. These projects have primarily concentrated on the outpatient/ambulatory healthcare space – physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, specialty hospitals and clinics and medical office buildings. QSE manages all aspects of I.T. infrastructure design, implementation and ongoing support for new and existing facilities nationwide, including servers, data storage systems, networking, firewalls, broadband internet access, data cabling, remote access and HIPAA Security.
Prior to founding QSE, Jenkins had over two decades of executive management experience in a variety of high‐growth technology and communications companies. He has served as chief information officer, chief operating officer, chief technology officer, vice president of sales and marketing and vice president of sales operations. Within various executive management positions in telecommunications and high‐tech industries, he was responsible for enterprise‐scale IT operations, supporting hundreds of locations, thousands of corporate users and millions of customers.
Jenkins is a nationally‐recognized author and speaker, having authored nearly three dozen articles and presentations on the role of technology in healthcare and business, and is a contributing author to the book, “Business Driven Information Technology,” which was published by Stanford University Press and is used as an MBA textbook in business schools around the country.
Jenkins earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University, and Masters and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He serves on the advisory board and adjunct faculty for a graduate degree program in Healthcare Leadership at the University of Denver. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce.

William F. Jessee, MD, FACMPE, FACPM
KEYNOTE SESSION: Wednesday, “The Changing World of Medical Groups: How the Changes Will Affect Your Future"
William F. Jessee, MD, FACMPE is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the nation’s leading voice for group medical practice. Before joining MGMA in 1999, Dr. Jessee served for three years as Vice President for Quality and Managed Care Standards at the American Medical Association (AMA), where he led the AMA’s activities in clinical guidelines, quality improvement, and accreditation. He also holds academic appointments as Clinical Professor of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, and as Adjunct Professor of Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health, Chapel Hill.
Previously, Dr. Jessee was CEO of UNIVA Health Network, a regional integrated delivery system in Louisville, Kentucky. He also has served as Vice President of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations from 1986-1991 and 1993-1994. From 1991-1993 he was corporate Vice President for Quality Management at Humana Inc. Dr. Jessee was a full time academician as Associate Professor of Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina, School of Public Health, Chapel Hill from 1980-1986.
He received his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He took residency training in pediatrics at Indiana University Hospitals, Indianapolis, and completed his training in preventive medicine at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. He is a Fellow in the American College of Preventive Medicine; an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Medical Quality; and a board certified medical practice executive and Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
Dr. Jessee served for nine years on the Board of Directors of Exempla Health System (Denver), including two years as its chair. He also is a former chair of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Currently, he is Treasurer of the Board of the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF); Secretary of the Board of the E-Health Initiative; and a member of the executive committee of the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO). Dr. Jessee was a founding Board member of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, which he served as President from 1989 to 1991, and as a Board member from 1985 to 1993. The Society named him a Life Member and Fellow in 1993. He also served on the National Advisory Council to the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) from 2000 until 2002.
An internationally well-known public speaker on health care issues, especially managed care strategies and quality of care, Dr. Jessee is the author of some 90 scientific articles, books, and book chapters.

Robert Tennant, MA, is the Senior Policy Advisor with the Washington, DC-based Government Affairs Department of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), headquartered in Englewood, Colorado.
